What can be treated?
Laser targets and indications

Pigmentation & Melasma
Sun spots, age spots, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and melasma — using StarWalker PQX or Clarity II, calibrated for Asian skin tones.

Acne Scars
Rolling, boxcar, and ice pick scars — treated with fractional laser (Multifrax or Tetra Pro CO2) or combined with RF microneedling for deeper remodelling.

Skin Texture & Rejuvenation
Enlarged pores, fine lines, dull complexion — addressed through gentle resurfacing, pico toning, or combination laser protocols.

Laser Hair Removal
Permanent hair reduction with the Clarity II dual-wavelength platform — safe for all skin types including darker Asian and South Asian tones.

Vascular & Redness
Broken capillaries, facial redness, spider veins, and vascular lesions — treated with Clarity II vascular settings.

Deep Resurfacing
For significant scarring, deep lines, or texture — the DEKA Tetra Pro CO2 delivers the most impactful resurfacing available, combining ablative and fractional modes.
Who is it suitable for?
Are lasers right for you?
Suitability depends on your skin type, Fitzpatrick score, and specific concern. Asian skin (Fitzpatrick III–V) requires careful laser selection to avoid post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Dr Mavis Pak has extensive experience with Asian skin and uses parameters specifically calibrated for darker tones.
Pigmentation, sun spots, melasma, or uneven skin tone
Acne scarring — rolling, boxcar, or ice pick
Enlarged pores and rough skin texture
Dull, lacklustre complexion needing overall rejuvenation
Unwanted body or facial hair
Broken capillaries or diffuse facial redness
Fine lines — particularly around the eyes and mouth
What results to expect
Realistic outcomes
Results vary significantly by modality and concern. Pigmentation often improves from the first session. Scarring and textural improvement require a course and ongoing collagen remodelling.
Ablative CO2 note: Tetra Pro CO2 involves 5–7 days of social downtime with visible redness and peeling. Results are significantly more impactful than non-ablative options. Dr Mavis Pak will advise on whether ablative or non-ablative is appropriate for your skin and schedule.
